Ember Days are the Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday following Ash Wednesday, Pentecost, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and the Feast of St. Lucy. These dates correspond with the changing of the seasons in the calendar year and are traditionally days of fasting and abstinence.
Ember Days for the next 12 months fall on:
- September 19, 21 and 22, 2018
- December 19, 21 and 22, 2018
- March 13, 15 and 16, 2019
- June 12, 14 and 15, 2019
This video explains the Ember Days very well, especially as they connect to prayer for vocations.

Anyone who would like to spiritually adopt agrees to pray daily for the year for the priest they are assigned. If you would like to adopt, please fill in the form found on the adopt-a-priest tab. Thank you for praying for our priests!
